Songket is a type of traditional woven cloth from melayu made by hand using yarn woven with gold and silver.  Many varieties and types Songket found in Indonesia, one of the most famous is Songket Palembang.
Traditional songket of Palembang is one part of the culture of Palembang. According to historical records Palembang sultanate, cleverness weaving songket always passed down from generation to generation through informal learning.
